Super Mario Advance
(This Review by Timm)
When I first saw this game on some game magazine, I saw it was two games in one. It only talked about 1, Super Mario Brothers 2, which is only my favorite Mario game. It didn't talk about the second, so I thought it was a new game. When I got the game for Chrismas, I was disappointed. The second game was the Mario arcade game. But, that was OK. I can live with a portable version of SMB2.
As I played it, I found several new, exciting additions. The first "bad guy" you meet, a Shy Guy, is huge. I mean like 4-10x bigger than usual. So I jumped on top of him, and went to pull him up. As I did so, a life-heart popped out. It was then I realized that this was going to be a great game. Quick life re-fills by your enemies. Well, it turned out only a few of the bad guys were huge like that, but it is still cool.
Now, I haven't beaten the game yet, I'm only on World 5 (out of 7), so I can't comment on the game's finish. But what I can say is this. GBA is so much of a step up from Game Boy. The graphics in this are the same (if not better) than the original SMB2. I can't wait to beat the game. I definately recommend this game to any GBA owner (and, for that matter, SMB2 to any original NES owners). This is definately the best game out there for GBA, even in its infancy.
Timm's Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars (character voices can be annoying)
